Hi, I'd like to propose to add to portage tree ver very important tools for laptop and ny other users using ACPI kernel and having need to get more information on their BIOS/ACPI status: http://www.nongnu.org/dmidecode http://www.intel.com/technology/iapc/acpi/downloads/pmtools-20010730.tar Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 32350 [details] pmtools-20031210.ebuild Ebuild for PM Tools. The Makefile isn't really a proper Makefile per se, so I've had to resort to dobin for installing binaries. These are completely undocumented as far as I can tell so there's nothing to go with them in the way of manpages etc. :-(
Created attachment 32352 [details] Same ebuild but with updated dependencies Three of the "binaries" are in fact perl scripts. This adds dev-lang/perl to RDEPEND.
Created attachment 32353 [details] dmidecode-2.4.ebuild This is an ebuild for dmidecode-2.4. The Makefile was filthy, access violations all over the place, things trying to end up in /usr/man... a patch will follow for it!
Created attachment 32354 [details, diff] dmidecode-2.4-destdir.patch The aforementioned Makefile patch.
Hi Robert, which files should I donwload and put to portage tree? Thanks Martin
sys-apps/dmidecode already exists in portage now so this bug can be closed. I only wonder whether part of the patch adjusting the manpath should have been applied.
acpidump from pmtools is still not in portage, but it is needed when reporting bugs about acpi.
pmtools in the tree since June 1st, sorry I forgot to close this bug.
