In the "OpenSSH key management, Part 1" article, there is a very misleading section entitled "the quick compromise." Read carefully and pay attention to the words 'convenience' and 'inconvenience'. The reader is told about the inconvenience of using passphrase authentication, and then immediately informed that "while this is convenient," its a huge security issue. Something is missing! Looking back at the article's source at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-keyc.html shows that indeed, there is a short paragraph and code listing, missing from the Gentoo doc, which restores coherence. Could appear very misleading if not read slowly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Find "The quick compromise" in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/articles/openssh-key-management-p1.xml 2. Read 3. Weep
Fixed. Thanks.
