Is there any interest in starting a news page on the latest blockers and known fixes like the poppler blocker here; http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-5663693.html#5663693 Reproducible: Always
Negative. It's not the best idea to document ~arch. Document ~arch to stable transitions, like the xorg-1.5 guide, yes, but not teach people "here, try this ~arch stuff knowing it will partially break your system." We have a policy in the GDP of not documenting ~arch packages, perhaps it's a good idea for PR, too. That's a very old thread, anyway, and since most blockages are PEBKAC, I'm not convinced that it's worth trying to collect them or keep track of them, especially since not all users will run into the same blockages even if on the same arch keyword etc. That's my take, anyway. If someone else really thinks that this is *front page worthy news* (which is supposed to be for critical stuff), then feel free to reopen. :)
Forgot to mention . . . that bug in the link provided happened because someone installed an unsupported third-party overlay. Definitely not something we can care about. Also, in the future, it's better to first go to the ML for discussion rather than posting a bug about it.
Blockers that users are not able to handle should be done with Portage news items and in turn those could also be posted to our web page if wanted but would be just useless duplication as users should always see the items through Portage if they want to.
