Description Luke-Jr 2009-07-19 18:14:44 UTC
Just upgraded to gpsd 2.39 and now it no longer works...

noriko ~ # gpsd
/usr/sbin/gpsd: error: `/usr/sbin/.libs/gpsd' does not exist
This script is just a wrapper for gpsd.
See the libtool documentation for more information.

Please don't change Severity field if you don't know what it means, thanks.
Comment 2 Luke-Jr 2009-07-19 19:03:37 UTC
I know what it means in normal use. As this version is currently rendered unusable by the bug, the bug is a blocker for it. Why did this get into the tree at all, I wonder? Obviously it was not tested...

Works fine here; don't know what's up with Eric's crazy makefiles yet:

# file /usr/sbin/gpsd

/usr/sbin/gpsd: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped

I'll take a look when I get back from work...

Okay, I managed to reproduce this on a fresh x86 install with mostly stable packages; I suspect libtool, but I'm still tracking it down.

Comment 5 Steve Arnold archtester gentoo-dev 2009-07-28 03:24:57 UTC
Updated gps-2.39.ebuild and it appears to install correctly on the above target machine, and gpsd launches and gets a satellite fix. Please test and report success/failure.
