From the web site: Pears is a three-pane newsfeed (RSS/RDF) aggregator. It has a clean, uncluttered interface, it's easy to use and works on Windows, Linux and possibly MacOSX. It depends on Python and wxPython. I suggest it be categorized as "net-www/pears".

The download URL may be unstable. The author probably ought to add a version qualifier to the filename and post Pears on a service like Sourceforge.
Created attachment 17795 [details] pears-1.2.ebuild The download and homepage URIs for Pears are now stable. Also updated to the most recent version.
Looks interesting ;-) Bug-wranglers - this isn't a web-based application, so it's probably best handled elsewhere. Can you find another home for it please? Thanks, Stu
net-news project
yeah, maybe the bug-wrangler got confused with pears in php .. anyway, this is an rss reading in wxpython, so i guess it should be assigned to python .. although this looks pretty similar to net-www/straw
reassigning this to wxwindows because its a wxwin app
Created attachment 35128 [details] pears-1.7.ebuild Pears is getting pretty mature now, along with wxPython. I suggest that perhaps all the RSS aggregators and utilities belong in a new category, perhaps "net-rss" instead of "net-www".
Thanks for the ebuild, Shane. Added to CVS.
