>=sys-fs/udev-145 does no longer provide /sbin/vol_id for getting info about partitions.
Other programs and udev rules need to switch to /sbin/blkid provided by sys-apps/util-linux-2.16

Please make all bugs about vol_id usage block this bug.

What also is missing is libvolume_id.so for example used by sys-apps/hal.
