I'm reporting this bug because the package in summary fails to build when forcing --as-needed on through spec files (check out http://blog.flameeyes.eu/2008/11/14/problems-and-mitigation-strategies-for-as-needed for details). Please note that this bug _might_ apply to -Wl,--as-needed in LDFLAGS as well; in both cases it should be fixed. Also, if this is due to the package in question not respecting user-defined LDFLAGS, you should get to fix that too. Check the attached build log. Thanks, Diego

I don't think it is related to --as-needed, but anyway thanks for the report. The problem is with the autotools scripts as they do not compile an .o file with the main function (entry point) and then try to link the final binary with just the mb (matchbox) library. Fix in on the way.
I expect this to be fixed since there is a different failure now…

Fixed, had to disable tests as they are very broken (missing files and such) and where causing the different error message mentioned in comment #3. Yuri.
