Problem seems to lie in linux-headers.
It looks like it's broken in 2.6.29
and fixed in 2.6.30 (at least looking at kernel tree).

For now I've masked >=sys-apps/busybox-1.14.0, so it's not a big deal for me.

FYI, I typically don't move to the newest kernel until it's had a few revisions and the linux-headers are available. Maybe it will be time to move to 2.6.30 from 2.6.29 shortly.
Comment 4 Alexey Shildyakov 2009-07-12 21:08:13 UTC
I have had the same problem. I've updraded to linux-headers-2.6.30 and the problem resolved.
Comment 5 Daniel Robbins 2009-07-13 16:24:45 UTC
This is breaking my metro builds too.
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2009-07-20 04:11:42 UTC
if it's fixed already in 2.6.30 headers, then there's nothing to be done here
Comment 7 Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-11-18 16:18:50 UTC
You should add the dependency >=sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.30 to the ebuild in the portage tree ...
Comment 8 Nebojsa Trpkovic 2009-11-24 21:30:27 UTC
I have the same problem.

guess that bug cannot be resolved if it needs some manual unmasking (linux-headers) in stable branch.

You should add the dependency >=sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.30 to the ebuild
in the portage tree ..
