Description David Mudrák 2009-07-09 12:38:09 UTC
Update /usr/share/vim/vim72/syntax/php.vim to the recent version from http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=1571

The current version does not highlight new functions and methods.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Workaround: download the file and save it in the user space:
~/.vim/syntax/php.vim

Actually, the new versions appear to be significantly slower. I am personally reverting the upgrade and am going to use the current version. Keeping open for further discussion.

Have you found a compromise between features and speed?
Comment 3 Jim Ramsay (lack) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-22 15:06:43 UTC
If someone can point me at a better syntax file that works, I'd be happy to include it in the main vim ebuild.

Until then, closing as NEEDINFO

Please reopen if you find an acceptable solution. Until then, you workaround is excellent for anyone who doesn't mind the reported speed hit.
