Description elcash 2009-07-08 22:50:04 UTC
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/

When firefox is compiled against xulrunner, there is a symlink
$:~>ls -al /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/defaults
@autoconfig => /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9/defaults/autoconfig

when USE="-xulrunner" firefox won't merge because of file collisions

mozilla-firefox-3.0.11 compiles fine if this symlink is removed, but I had to do this manually

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge xulrunner-1.9
2.emerge mozilla-firefox-3.0.11 with USE="xulrunner"
3.emerge mozilla-firefox-3.0.11 with USE="-xulrunner"

Is very similar to bug 261706 - collides with same files but this still happened to me with firefox3 in stead of firefox2.5

While this may be a valid bug, the reason for
having both xulrunner AND firefox[-xulrunner] evades me,
especially that 3.5 has a hard dep on xulrunner.

UPstream wants to move all apps on top of xulrunner, this is to make it alot easier on security releases for distros. Firefox-3.5 will now force xulrunner as the only possible config option from gentoo.

3.5.x is stable closing wontfix.
