Description Manuel Lauss 2009-07-08 10:00:30 UTC
Please bring back the "custom-cxxflags" useflag. I'm on a FPU-less MIPS32 platform (with appropriate CFLAGS to use softfloat), and without this flag qt is built to use hardfloat math, which unfortunately traps into the kernel and also suffers from some ABI differences wrt. to the rest of the softfloat userland.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Allen Brooker (AllenJB) 2009-07-08 10:57:51 UTC
The custom-cxxflags use flag has been removed because qt no longer forces cxxflags by default (ie. it now always uses the user specified cxxflags). See http://ben.liveforge.org/2009/06/27/qt-452-changes (via http://planet.gentoo.org )

Please try compiling and using the updated version. If you still have issues, please come back with a full build.log and the output of "emerge --info" (as well as any other information that may show the problem or possible solutions)

Well, it doesn't honor my CFLAGS; probably because I'm not on x86 and they're
overridden by one of the mips qmake profiles.

here's the emerge --info output; the buildlog for qt-core could take a day...

Comment 3 Manuel Lauss 2009-07-08 12:01:53 UTC
Okay, I checked the g++.conf qmake spec, and it's using the specified
CFLAGS in release builds; however for for some strange reason I have to
excplicitly add "-fvisibility=hidden" to the CFLAGS, otherwise KDE-4 for instance
complains about Qt4 being built without hidden symbols (QMAKE_CFLAGS_HIDESYMS seems to have no effect)
