Description Andrew Savchenko gentoo-dev 2009-07-08 00:26:33 UTC
Please make consolekit dep optional for bluez. Not all people want to use consolekit at all. An appropriate USE flag is already present in the system, so it would be wise to use it here.

Thanks for your suggestion and patch; assigning to maintainers.

Is it possible to really disable consolekit support for bluez if it has been previously merged with consolekit? Maybe that dependency is being forced because of automagic problems:
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/automagic.xml

Thanks :-)

This also seems like a dupe of bug 269373 ;-)

Dunno. I have never install consolekit on my systems and will never do this. You can always remove consolekit and rebuild bluez. This will solve automagick problem for sure.

Yes, it is, but motivation of this bug was different and it provides a patch to fix a problem in a graceful way 8-). Before posting this bug I performed bug search, but obviiously, there is no "consolekit" in that message. Feel free to mark this bug as a dup, but save (e.g. link) a patch.

Current versions of the ebuild already have this support.
