Rhythmbox has started releasing. This is a must-have in portage. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 16891 [details] rhythmbox-0.5.2 ebuild This ebuild uses Xine instead of gstreamer, because Xine is needed by most multimedia applications.. (and gstreamer isn't..) ;)
i've got this local, as i believe foser and/or liquidx have. rhythmbox has a history in the tree (it was removed a while back) so i guess we'll reevaluate with the newer versions.
Actually.. I couldn't compile this one with "--enable-xine".. and it might need more dependancies... It worked ok when using gstreamer, though.. Will check whether it's because it needs xine-lib-rc0 instead of beta12.
Well.. I got access violations when it tried to update scrollkeeper.. I have the 0.5.1 version working beautifully in my local. Just drop a comment if it's interesting for submission.
Created attachment 16895 [details] rhythmbox-0.5.2 I used the gnome2_omf_fix to avoid the scrollkeeper access violations, added the xine use flag to use the xine backend instead of gstreamer.
mm, got another copy here locally, and it still fails horridly on some files and is badly implemented on others (Skip and fails to detect media format) Hopefully some of this will be fixed with the next gstreamer release (hint hint foser), but for an application of this nature it also lacks several rather "vital" features. Such as retagging files ;-)
i want this to wait and work with and be a test-bed for the gst setup. I hope to do this soonish, but time is costly.
I've had no problems with gstreamer (0.6.3). Retagging files is on the wishlist, but as far as I'm concerned, I'd rather use EasyTag 0.28.1.
See bug 27911 - this should probably depend on a specific version of xine-lib.

0.5.3 is in portage, with the new gst-plugins setup in place. thanks for all the suggestions/fixes.
