Hello,

the Linux kernel developers decided to continue support for the 2.6.27.xy series for a longer time. So this will be a stable tree, similar to 2.6.16, for which Gentoo had vanilla ebuilds for the time it was supported upstream. It would be nice to have updated ebuilds for the 2.6.27.xy series, too, even though copying the 2.6.27.24 ebuild to a local overlay and renaming it is the only thing a user has to do.

So, what do you think?
