digikam-0.10.0-r1 already fixed this, so when you use broken package keywords list it is entirely your problem. (0.10.0 is even no longer on cvs)

How is it my problem; when I remove the package from my system, then do the upgrade, and it works?  That is clearly something in the ebuild or the portage, causing it to fail the upgrade.  It had nothing to do with my use flags, as I did not change them, and now it is working.
