Description Teun Blok 2009-07-01 08:00:06 UTC
Revdep-rebuild found a broken dynamic link for dev-perl/sdl-perl-2.1.3-r3 in my Gentoo linux box (x86). A oneshot emerge failed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge --sync
2. emerge -u --deep --newuse world
3. emerge --depclean
4. revdep-rebuild
5. broken /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/SDL_perl/SDL_perl.so (requires libSDL_gfx.so.0)
6. emerge --oneshot dev-perl/sdl-perl:0

Please attach your emerge --info and perl -V.
Does reinstalling perl-core/Module-Build help? Attach the build.log too.

And why does it say "sandbox:main signal SIGQUIT already had a handler ...". Strange.

I did a re-emerge of perl-core/Module-Build > all ok

Then I did a re-emerge of sdl-perl and got this result: failed to emerge again, a slightly different message then the first one but still....

The build.log follows after this message. This build.log is of the re-emerge sdl-perl (second action)

It can't find ExtUtils-CBuilder, but this is listed as a dependency of Module-Build. So it should be installed on your system.

Where is ExtUtils-CBuilder installed?
`awk '{print $2}' /var/db/pkg/perl-core/ExtUtils-CBuilder-0.26/CONTENTS`

Does a reinstall of perl-core/ExtUtils-CBuilder help? Do you use g-cpan?
Comment 7 Teun Blok 2009-07-01 15:29:42 UTC
No, i do not use g-cpan:

merge -p g-cpan

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] dev-perl/Log-Agent-0.307
[ebuild N ] dev-perl/Class-MethodMaker-2.12
[ebuild N ] dev-perl/Shell-EnvImporter-1.04
[ebuild N ] app-portage/g-cpan-0.15.0-r1

ExtUtils-CBuilder was installed:

emerge -p ExtUtils-CBuilder

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] perl-core/ExtUtils-CBuilder-0.23

I dit a re-emerge of ExtUtils-CBuilder:

emerge ExtUtils-CBuilder
Calculating dependencies... done!

I did a re-emerge of sdl-perl:

>>> Completed installing sdl-perl-2.1.3-r3 into /var/tmp/portage/dev-perl/sdl-perl-2.1.3-r3/image/

strip: i686-pc-linux-gnu-strip --strip-unneeded -R .comment
   usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/SDL_perl/SDL_perl.so
   usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/SDL/SFont/SFont.so
   usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/SDL/OpenGL/OpenGL.so

>>> Installing (1 of 1) dev-perl/sdl-perl-2.1.3-r3

>>> No outdated packages were found on your system.

Everything works now!

So, the a re-emerge of perl-core/ExtUtils-CBuilder-0.23 was the solution.

Many thanks for your help Torsten Veller.
