Description JJ 2003-08-30 05:07:05 UTC
Limits of RX and TX bytes counters in ifconfig are too low.
Wraparound to 0 after reaching 4096 Mbytes.

Wishlist: Increase counter ranges.

I just noticed something strange with the byte counts in ifconfig a few days ago. I transfered at least 4GB between comps and ifconfig said 1700 Mbytes or so. This could be why. I'm nearing the 4GB mark now and I'll see if it wraps again to confirm this bug.

Yup it wrapped overnight.

Can you point this down to anything kernel-specific?

Thanks Matt, looks like it's from upstream, and there's a patch at the URL.
Resolving bug.
