Description Jeff Record 2003-08-29 13:46:35 UTC
I have deleted all partitions on disk and first set the third partition size
to the whole disk. However I am unable to set the type to "whole disk", option
5 in the install doc. I cannot find that type when listing all the types
available.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. fdisk /dev/hda
2. press n, choose primary then 3 for partition #
3. set size to defaults (which is beginning and end of disk)
4. press t to set type,
Actual Results:
option 5 as described in doc is for "extended", which I cant do because I
chose the partition as primary. If I make the partition extended then option 5
still stays extended.

Expected Results:
want type id to be "whole disk" or instructions on what is accepted id type
for the 3rd partition

was able to create a sun disk label from scratch. (option s from fdisk)....

not sure if documentation may need to reflect that

This is noted in the documentation.
