Kernel 2.6 has changed its format in /proc/meminfo. This breaks current compatibility with libgtop Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Use a 2.6 beta kernel with libgtop 2. 3. There is a patch at http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104747 that works if you change all the referances from 2.5 to 2.6. It merges and compiles with libgtop-2.0.4. (I tested this version and 2.0.0).
that patch doesnt seem like it's been official accepted. although i doubt it would be hard to apply to the ebuild. im running 2.6 and gnome-system-monitor (the only thing i'm running that uses libgtop) seems to behave normally. have you experienced abnormal behaviour in this or similar applications ? thanks.
i talked about this with the reporter on IRC, but without a configure or runtime test we cant apply this or we might device some test in the ebuild maybe, although that's sorta ugly. Runtime test would be best.
any luck with libgtop-2.0.5 ?
ok, libgtop 2.0.6 got support for this. next time please try to actively help out, we can't possibly do everything ourselves. Monitor the upstream bug, adapt the patch or ebuild as requested in #2 or discuss other options if needed. In that way a fix will sooner enter the tree and we don't necessarily have to wait for upstream to adapt first.
