Description Luyang Han 2009-06-26 15:56:11 UTC
In qtiplot-0.9.7.7 the program would crash if an existing *.qti file is opened from GUI. However, if the file is opened in console:
qtiplot foobar.qti
The program works fine

Reproducible: Always

Sébastien Fabbro has handled the last few version bumps to this package. It sounds like an upstream issue. Can anyone reproduce this issue? Have you looked at scidavis as an alternative tool?

Thanks Marcus, I just checked the SciDAVis and I think it's an interesting project forked from qtiplot. Also very interesting that there seems to be some kind of fighting between the developers of two projects. One project developer thinks that it is morally wrong to take his code under the GPL license.

To consider the crashing problem. I will try to compile the newer version manually and check that again.

Please provide us with a simple qti file, and a trace from the crash.

Since this version of qtiplot is old, and such problem does not occur in newer versions, I think it's ok to mark it fixed.
