Description Henrik Sankala 2009-06-19 12:01:58 UTC
I can't update my system because kdemaildir wants me to re-emerge kdelibs with the kdeprefix use flag that seems to have been hardmasked:

# emerge -Duva @world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy ">=kde-base/kdelibs-4.2.4:4.2[kdeprefix]".
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:
- kde-base/kdelibs-4.2.4-r2 (Change USE: +kdeprefix)
(dependency required by "kde-base/kdemaildir-4.2.4" [installed])
(dependency required by "@world" [argument])

My kde does not work after update kdelibs.
This version force -kdeprefix and all other packages of kde have +kdeprefix.
Comment 3 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-24 07:00:15 UTC
Yes, kdeprefix was causing some problems, but looking at the tracker bug 239356 it seems lots of them have been fixed. If you have not had any problems with it, you could unmask it since your current kde seems to have been built with it on

echo "-kdeprefix" >> /etc/portage/profile/use.mask

lopan: sorry, but you'll need to unmerge kde4 and merge it back so all packages have the same kdeprefix setting
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/kde/kde4-guide.xml
"Warning: If you want to move between kdeprefix and -kdeprefix (or vice-versa), it is recommended that you unmerge all KDE packages and then emerge it with the modified flag. If this is not done, KDE installations can have trouble finding certain libraries/plugins."
Comment 4 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2009-06-27 03:02:05 UTC
kdeprefix needs to be set (or unset) consistently within whole KDE release - and packages are set up to enforce such settings - this is not a bug but intended behaviour. Please either disable or enable 'kdeprefix' in make.conf and then
emerge -vaDuN world
