Forget my previous comment. Didn't see that this happens right after the package was unpacked...
Comment 3 Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-21 22:49:24 UTC
Hmm... at line 1622 of /usr/lib64/portage/bin/ebuild.sh begins the filter_readonly_variables() function...
Could you please attach /var/tmp/portage/x11-apps/sessreg-1.0.4/temp/environment to this bug?

@portage, this is probably something you can help out with. Our ebuild is fine, I have no idea how it could be responsible for such a breakage.

Thanks
Comment 8 Sebastian Luther (few) 2009-06-30 18:18:51 UTC
Is this reproducible? Does it happen with all/some ebuilds or only this one? Do you have stuff installed that was build with strange C(XX)FLAGS?
Comment 9 Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2009-07-01 03:57:11 UTC
The 'Segmentation fault' means there's some sort of hardware or software corruption on your system. In this case it looks like python segfaulted when running the filter-bash-environment.py script (dmesg will confirm that the segfault was in the python process). It could be hardware issue (like overheating or memory error) or software corruption.
Comment 10 kevstar.31 2009-07-01 14:22:07 UTC
The problem is gone after I later ran emerge -e world. It may have been a result of the transition from amd64 to ~amd64.
