I was installing gnome-light, which shows its version 2.24. However, so everything became 2.26 even before there is an available gnome-light-2.26. In fact, this can also be a problem with ebuild. Currently ebuild is hard to set the maximum version and the minimum version at the same time. Sorry to report this problem now, while gnome-light-2.26 is already there. But this can be also confusing while Gnome 2.28 is out. This is not a bug. Meta ebuilds (such as gnome and gnome-light) can only describe deps with minimums, ranges are not possible. As such, gnome-light 2.24 will install 2.26 if those are the latest packages available. Sorry
