The current stable release of squashfs-tools is 4.x and the current kernels only support squashfs-3. To create a stable squashfs file for a new LiveCD we need to use Squashfs-tools-3.x. Hopefully this can resume the autobuild process which seems to have topped for a couple of weeks since squashfs-tools-4 went stable. Cheers, Rich. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Exactly which "current kernels" are you talking about? The current stable gentoo-sources is 2.6.29-r5, which no longer supports squashfs files created in the old 3.x format. The autobuilds from a few weeks ago weren't bootable because of this, which forced us to stabilize sys-fs/squashfs-tools-4.0.
Also, catalyst doesn't require *any* particular version of squashfs-tools, as the version is determined entirely by what's stable and what's supported by the kernel. We just call the utility, nothing more.
