Description Hans Meier 2009-06-16 21:32:27 UTC
/etc/init.d/pulseaudio start
* Please don't use system wide PulseAudio unless you read the
* documentation available at http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/WhatIsWrongWithSystemMode
*
* When you're done, please set the variable PULSEAUDIO_SHOULD_NOT_GO_SYSTEMWIDE in
* /etc/conf.d/pulseaudio . Please remember that upstream does not support this mode
* when used for standard desktop configurations.
* ERROR: pulseaudio failed to start

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
No sound

Expected Results:
Sound works
Comment 1 Rafał Mużyło 2009-06-16 23:54:25 UTC
It works exactly as it should -
it was changed to act this way, cause upstream
doesn't really support system mode for normal setups
(though it should work) as it was meant for
embedded-alike setups.

If you believe you really need it, just do,
what this note tells you to.
