As far as i know glitz is not needed by any of the plugins. However if cairo links with glitz then all gtk and cairo applications links with libGL. For nvidia drivers users it means additional ~9MB of memory per process.

Look at #272968 as reference and similar report regarding x11-wm/compiz.

Just had a grep through the source and can't find glitz anywhere, so I've removed the dependency.  Sorry for the delay...
