New amd46 install. Installed Xorg and a firefox and ufraw, then emerged xfce4 but PC crashed somewhere in the install process and when I tried to continue orage fails to emerge.

woa, this is not an issue on my stable host. My best guess is to make sure your toolchain is sane and try again with default CFLAGS.

It was after a gcc upgrade so maybe that was the problem, although I did do an emerge -e system and emerge -e world... ah well, I've stopped using the computer for the time being, its in storage for a while... and it works on my main PC (also amd64). I will repost if this ever comes back again. Thanks.
