Description Martin Gerdzhev 2009-06-11 23:31:22 UTC
I'm using x11-wm/compiz-0.8.2-r1 and x11-wm/compiz-fusion-0.8.2 and every once in a while the screen would start being repainted as like it's moved 100 pixels to the left and 100 pixels to the bottom. If I use metacity instead of compiz the problem dissapears. Usually happens if I leave the computer on for several hours.

Reproducible: Sometimes

This is on a 64 bit Gentoo. I used to have Ubuntu Intrepid and compiz worked fine there and haven't seen this problem before.

The repainting of the windows also gets messed up. The actual windows are still in the right places, it's only the painting that's the issue. So when I click on something, I have to click 100 pixels to the right to actually hit it. If I do alt+tab or switch workspaces it temporarily paints properly but gets imediatelly broken again.

Please use the "Applications" component if you're not 100% sure that the bug is a Gnome bug.

Thanks

I'm sorry for not taking care of this bug sooner.
Please try to duplicate this bug with 0.8.6 that's going to be added to the tree in a few minutes / hours.

Still present in 0.8.8 although there does not seem to be any issue with the mouse position being off the point of focus. There is a slight offset to the right that occurs but as the reporter notes it does take a while to show up.
