Oh, I forgot to ask, if meanwhile a external QOF can be used by Gnucash.  I am about to import qof2 (aka qof-0.8.0) into the tree.

External qof has diverged from the internal fork made a long time ago; I'd be surprised if the external qof can be used; upstream has no goal or desire to use external QOF.
