Hi,  while trying to do emerge system i noticed that emerge sash always fails because of a sigsegv of ld. i tried many thinks,switched cflags for binutils and sash,gcc 3.3 and 3.2. but finally i think it's a bug in this version of binutils. with 2.14.90.0.2 sash can be merged without problems. perhaps this version should be masked?

This should be fixed with -r1 in portage.  The newly added place-orphan.patch
caused this, as well as failings with util-linux-2.12.
