Description peng shao 2009-06-09 04:22:41 UTC
I guess this should be the problem?

 *
 * QA Notice: Package has poor programming practices which may compile
 * but will almost certainly crash on 64bit architectures.
 *
 * Function `strdup' implicitly converted to pointer at check_print.c:123
 *
 * Please file a bug about this at http://bugs.gentoo.org/
 * with the maintaining herd of the package.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge check
2.
3.

Actual Results:
failed to be compiled

Expected Results:
to be compiled successfully

I attach the build.log here, wish it could help, thank you for attention:)
Comment 2 R Bar-On 2009-06-09 05:26:46 UTC
identical here, also amd64
Comment 3 Peter Read 2009-06-09 05:37:32 UTC
Another confirmation on amd64 if you want it. (had held off to look as thought it might be a gcc 4.4 issue but appears not from the reporters emerge --info)
Comment 4 Peter Read 2009-06-09 05:39:51 UTC
Just for clarity, it does compile :) it's the install phase it dies during.

  09 Jun 2009; Jeroen Roovers <jer@gentoo.org> +check-0.9.6.ebuild,
  +files/check-0.9.6-AM_PATH_CHECK.patch:
  Version bump thanks to Jason (bug #257780). Drop two accepted patches. Add
  partial (apparently rejected) AM_PATH_CHECK patch.
Comment 8 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-09 11:01:43 UTC
Bah I forgot to check the bugzilla before committing. Anyway fixed and patch sent upstream.
