The bug is described in the GNOME Bugzilla: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434237
In summary ipod-sharp breaks newer ipods because it doesn't write the podcast information in the proper way which leads to the ipod claiming not to have any podcasts on it.

The gnome bugzilla features a patch by the developer but there has not been a release with it, yet.
