I have media-tv/xbmc 9.04 installed with "-opengl" and get reproducibly a crash. Attached is a backtrace

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start xbmc
2. Open the "Music" menu
3. Press key down to select "Add item"
4. Press key up to select "UPNP servers"

Actual Results:
Segmentation faul

Expected Results:
It works

This all happens on a 64 bit macbook using XFCE 4 and vanilla kernel 2.6.29.3.

xmbc is installed with the following flags:

Installed versions: 9.04(02:07:18 06.06.2009)(alsa -debug -joystick -opengl -profile -pulseaudio -vdpau)
Comment 5 Christian Weiske 2009-06-06 06:13:02 UTC
I was already going to report this upstream, but their Download page says you absolutely need opengl, so I thought that i'm better here.
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2009-06-07 06:50:46 UTC
so why did you disable opengl ?
Comment 7 Christian Weiske 2009-06-07 10:02:41 UTC
I disable opengl because I got a crash with starting it with opengl - and because it's possible :)
Comment 8 Ian Stakenvicius (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-07 20:03:17 UTC
As a corrollary with this bug, it would be handy if the opengl flag was enabled by default in the ebuild, as it currently is not and many xbmc functions (such as all video-displaying functionality) doesn't work without it.
