I have updated the ebuild from portage for the latest GnuCash release. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 16555 [details] New GnuCash ebuild
i was actually looking for you on IRC today. Next time please provide a diff vs the last ebuild for convenience. I think only the docs got updated and ~ppc arch got added (?) Did you test on ppc ?
Sorry about that, I'd do a diff next time. I updated the docs to 1.8.2, added ~ppc (I'm just composing a email atm to gentoo-ppc-dev to let them know this version runs ok on ppc) and changed openhbci to 0.9.13. You can usually find me on #gentoo-ppc or #gnucash on irc.gimp.net
ok, lets see .. i can build this fine and it seems to work ok, but the docs are a menace. I can't build with them becuase it takes hours and eats up my HD space and runs out of 1.1G or something at the end (?), is that just me or a known problem ? Is it really needed to build the docs like that ?
That shouldn't happen, the only thing the docs are doing is converting the XML docbook to html. My fully installed GnuCash is; $ du -sh gnucash 24M gnucash Source: $ du -sh gnucash-1.8 34M gnucash-1.8 $ du -sh gnucash-docs 4.7M gnucash-docs Docs build dir after compiling docs: $ du -sh gnucash-dtest/ 8.6M gnucash-dtest Source build dir after compiling source: $ du -sh gnucash-test/ 144M gnucash-test Sounds like your install is messed up somehow
might just be i didn't build with hbci support, but we don't have 0.9.13 yet it seems. I'll try to have our maintainer update it.
Yeh I opened a bug for that too http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27242
Foser, You may want to wait until after this weekend to update this as I discovered a bug in gnucash-docs (some of the docs have invalid tags) and I will be releasing gnucash-docs 1.8.3 this sunday
will do, just report back here and it can go in.
Ok gnucash-docs-1.8.3 has been released.
ok .. i built it alright with the docs. i'm including the docs without the docs useflag because those are user-level docs and not programming docs. 1.8.5 and 1.8.3 docs is now in portage.
