For some reasons all of the links in "places" started to open the "find files" windows, instead of browsing the corresponding directory. The same is happening from a number of applications that have an "open folder" command. The only link that opens properly is "Computer". Nautilus alone works perfectly, though. After a quick search I find this: bertodsera@gentoo ~ $ grep x-directory/normal /usr/share/applications/* /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache:x-directory/normal=pcmanfm-find.desktop;pcmanfm-folder-handler.desktop;pcmanfm.desktop;nautilus-folder-handler.desktop; /usr/share/applications/nautilus-folder-handler.desktop:MimeType=x-directory/gnome-default-handler;x-directory/normal;inode/directory;application/x-gnome-saved-search; /usr/share/applications/pcmanfm.desktop:MimeType=x-directory/normal;inode/directory; /usr/share/applications/pcmanfm-find.desktop:MimeType=x-directory/normal;inode/directory; /usr/share/applications/pcmanfm-folder-handler.desktop:MimeType=x-directory/gnome-default-handler;x-directory/normal;inode/directory; Which leads me to think that something is wrong with pcmanfm. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: I suppose you can simply install it yourself. I hope I can simply unmerge it to fix the problem. bertodsera@gentoo ~ $ emerge -vp pcmanfm These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! /usr/share/applications/pcmanfm-find.desktop:MimeType=x-directory/normal;inode/directory; ^^ that is utterly wrong and causing the problem.
Fixed in 0.5.1 ebuild
