The "old" postgresql-chain (dev-db-postgresql-8.1.11 and dev-db-libpq-8.1.11) has gone stable on x86 a few days ago. From the "new" postgresql-chain (dev-db/postgresql-server, dev-db/postgresql-base and dev-db-postgresql-docs) is the first part is still unstable while the two latter parts are stable with version 8.1.11. For building postgresql the "new" way, postgresql-server-8.1.11 needs to be masked as stable. As postgresql-server-8.1.11 depends on the same source code as the stable components of the "new" postgresq-chain, I see no upcoming problems in the requested stabilizing. BTW: The "new" postgresql-chain (ver 8.1.11) builds and works here without problems on x86.
At least virtual/postgresql-server-8.1 is needed
(In reply to comment #1) > At least virtual/postgresql-server-8.1 is needed No, I installed "dev-db/postgresql-{base,docs,server}" and got ,--- | martin@asgard % qlist -Iv postgresql | app-admin/eselect-postgresql-0.3 | dev-db/postgresql-base-8.1.11 | dev-db/postgresql-docs-8.1.11 | dev-db/postgresql-server-8.1.11 | virtual/postgresql-base-8.1 `--- The other[tm] two ebuilds were pulled in as dependencies.
(In reply to comment #1) > At least virtual/postgresql-server-8.1 is needed I just saw your work on packages.gentoo.org. Thanks for stabilizing 'virtual/postgresql-server-8.1'
