Description Gil Forcada 2009-06-02 17:40:28 UTC
My first bug report, I hope to do it properly :)

My gnome-panel shows the weeks starting at Sunday and that's wrong if the selected locale is ca_AD since Catalan locale always starts weeks at Monday.

So I give a try and found that the French locale has this lines in the LC_TIME description in /usr/share/i18n/locales/fr_FR:

week 7;19971130;4
first_weekday 2
first_workday 2

So I copied them to /usr/share/i18n/locales/ca_ES (which ca_AD uses) and after a locale-gen and a reboot gnome-panel displays correctly the starting week day at Monday.

Should this be fixed here or has to be reported somewhere else?

Reproducible: Always

start dates and such need to be posted at upstream bugzilla by you. we arent residents of said locale and cant defend it in any way. sorry for the inconvenience.

Comment 4 Gil Forcada 2009-06-03 07:04:05 UTC
Thanks, seems there is already a bug report about it upstream:

Pardus distro includes patches for several locales (including Turkish and Catalan) Can it be included?

Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2009-06-04 19:28:57 UTC
we rely on glibc for locale definitions because different users may interpret things different ways and we no longer want the hassle of arbitrating that kind of drama
