Description Alex Cannon 2009-05-31 18:29:41 UTC
When displaying certain web pages that have a font color that is other than black, the color of certain areas of the text changes, or becomes completely black. Highlighting the text makes that part of the text return to the normal color, and then go bad again. Also, when slowly scrolling the screen, next that appears from off screen appears in its normal color.

Here is a screenshot: https://s.truthsearch.us:13443/s/main/misc/seamonkey.jpg

In that screenshot, the text you see highlighted is in its normal color, but the whole screen should be filled with text, but it is black so you can't see it. The links on the left side are invisible too.

[ebuild R ] www-client/seamonkey-1.1.16 USE="crypt ipv6 ldap -debug -gnome -java -mozdevelop -moznocompose -moznoirc -moznomail -moznopango -moznoroaming -postgres -xforms -xinerama (-xprint%*)" 0 kB

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a web page with a black background and see what happens for you.
2.
3.

Can you please verify that under preferences > Content you don't require that the browser force black text and blue links? You *may* be able to find this information by visiting "about:config" and in the filter bar at the top of the page, typing "browser.display.use_document_colors". Those instructions are for firefox-3, but should also work for seamonkey. If you find that value, please check that it's not in bold and is set to true...

Please check your settings under

  Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Colors

and make sure you have "Always use the colors and background specified by the web page" set.
