Description judolinux 2009-05-27 09:56:52 UTC
In Chapter 8, part a):
When you are on the gentoo LiveCD, the first hard drive is represented by /dev/hda so in the fstab you write /dev/hda1 for the installation.
But, when the system have been installed, compiled, etc., after the first reboot try, the first hard drive is represented by /dev/sda so the system can't boot correctly.

Reproducible: Didn't try

To fix the mistake, I 've booted on a liveCD and correct the /etc/fstab.
I saw this bug on the french documentation.

We already talk about using sda instead of hda as the default example throughout the handbook, and tell our users to modify their setups according to their needs. Please visit the Gentoo Forums (http://forums.gentoo.org) if you need help installing Gentoo.
