I have installed dev-texlive/texlive-latex-2008-r1 and I had a problem citing bibliographic items using the natlib package. Cites with many authors are writen (Author et~al., year). That tilde between et and al shouldn't be printed out.

I solved it by installing manually a newer version of natbib, 8.3 available at ctan [1]. The ebuild installs version 8.1

I'm not sure who creates the texlive-module-natbib-2008.tar.lzma file, if it is maitained by gentoo or tex community, so I'm sorry if this isn't the correct place to report.

The TeXLive team maintains that package and I am sure, the Gentoo TeX team (which is one person at the moment) won't do anything about it.
