We've been using a new eselect-python for a while that has been working well for us. Here is the ChangeLog entry that details the bug fixes included: 11 Apr 2009; Daniel Robbins <drobbins@funtoo.org> +eselect-python-20090411.ebuild: New ebuild that fixes bugs: ROOT!=/ symlinks are incorrect, and don't list "python-?.?" as an entry when no pythons are installed. Needs some testing. We've done the testing, and it's working well as of 25 May 2009. Probably the best way to grab these from funtoo is to browse our git repo, as the working version has been spread over a few commits: http://github.com/funtoo/portage/tree/funtoo.org Reproducible: Always
Please attach patches in the future. Some changes were already committed [1] before this bug was reported. I added the check to avoid "python?.?". [1] http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/python/changeset/153
