1) according to http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/download_linux 0.5.13 wants app-text/podofo now instead of app-text/pdftk (as for 0.5.12) is it correct that latest ebuild still contains pdftk depend? 2) calibre uses embedded pyPdf, which is being removed during installation and appropriate gentoo package is written in ebuild as dependency should this trick being repeated for embedded dev-python/cssutils? Reproducible: Always
listing calibre files shows that dev-python/odfpy and dev-python/cherrypy also embedded within package

On linux, calibre will fall back to pdftk and pypdf. Linux distributors: calibre will only try to build the podofo extension if it detects the podofo header files in the directory pointed to by PODOFO_INC_DIR, defaults to /usr/include/podofo > 2) calibre uses embedded pyPdf, which is being removed during installation and > appropriate gentoo package is written in ebuild as dependency > should this trick being repeated for embedded dev-python/cssutils? Yes, will do. (In reply to comment #1) > listing calibre files shows that dev-python/odfpy and dev-python/cherrypy also > embedded within package Will do those too.

0.5.14 is incompatible with dev-python/PyQt4 >= 4.5 0.6 is planned to fix this
