Description Tobias Leupold 2009-05-24 10:04:46 UTC
I'm not perfectly sure if this belongs here, or to the Kernel or the GCC folks, but this is an interesting and reproduceable bug:

When I build the Intel HD audio driver of the vanilla-sources 2.6.28.9 with gcc 4.3.3-r2, I get noise, clicks and cracks from the speakers of my EEE PC 1000h from the moment where the sound modules are loaded. When the speakers are muted using alsamixer, the noise stops.

Exactly the same kernel with the same config built with gcc 4.3.2-r3 works fine and the speakers behave as exspected.

Reproducible: Always

Is this reproducible with gcc-4.3.4 or gcc-4.4.1?
