!!! No gcc found. You probably need to 'source /etc/profile'
!!! to update the environment of this terminal and possibly

Did you do it? Does it make the error message go away? If not, paste the output of gcc-config -l.
Comment 5 Sebastian Luther (few) 2009-05-22 19:30:04 UTC
and the config.log is still missing

!!! Please attach the following file when seeking support:

Comment 6 Antwane Mason 2009-05-22 19:55:36 UTC
I tried etc-update and source /etc/profile, but the error did not go away.
T ~ # gcc-config -l
 * gcc-config: Active gcc profile is invalid!
 [1] i686-pc-linux-gnu-4.3.2

the config.log file does not exist.

T ~ # cat var/tmp/portage/dev-python/gnome-python-extras-base-2.19.1/work/gnome-python-extras-2.19.1/config.log
cat: var/tmp/portage/dev-python/gnome-python-extras-base-2.19.1/work/gnome-python-extras-2.19.1/config.log: No such file or directory

You forgot the leading / in /var/tmp/portage/dev-python/gnome-python-extras-base-2.19.1/work/gnome-python-extras-2.19.1/config.log
