This probrems began when I update exo to version 0.3.4. When i mount usb flash with fat32 filesystem all cyrillic filenames show as "??????????????" For exo 0.3.4 Alexander Drozdov make a patch which fix this problem. For exo 0.3.101 patch exist too. The full review of this bug you can find here: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2891. Who can add this patch into the portage tree? Or fix this problem in exo. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Mount any flash drive with cyrillic filename by xfce mounter.

Looks like an extremely ugly hack that I definitely don't want in the tree. Looks more like you want to play with fdi files to get the correct charset.

Exo is ignore fdi rules. i'm download the specification sheet for HAL and read tons of webpages about this problem. The place in specs where described old working solution with fdi rules for charset changing marked as deprecated. :( Xfce developers can't close bug for two years. That is very sad.
trying to figure out why my ntfs usb disk gets automounted r-x------ with apparently no way to change it, ended up concluding that it's this exo-mount ignorance problem.

hal-info 20090309
ok, ln -s /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g /sbin/mount.ntfs at least gives me access with 777 mode, i'm sure i can figure how to tweak this, thanks eugene.
