That's not a parallel make issue. That's the fact that your toolchain is hosed. You just got lucky the second time around. Basically, your compiler crashed. If you're lucky, it's a simple bad compile. If you're unlucky then it's a hardware issue. Re-compile your gcc, binutils, and glibc a few times to ensure that everything is definitely going to be rebuilt with a working set.
