I saw a discussion on #gentoo-doc wichi prompted me to write these short instructions on how to filter email with spamassasin if you use the evolution mail client. It might be useful as a standalone doc, as part of the desktop configuration guide or as a little tip in some future gwn. Do with it as you may! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 16366 [details] plain text file It works quite well, thank you very much!
Created attachment 16382 [details] evolution and spamassassin mini-howto Beware, I ran this through xmllint only!
Please add this to the desktop guide. This mini-howto is waaaay to short to be a seperate howto. And if you don't think it belongs in the desktop guide, consider adding it as documentation to the gentoo forums.
Plus, if it's really that slow as I heard on #gentoo-doc, it might be better not to have it as documentation at all (or as personal developer documentation on your dev.g.o website) :)
I think I read somewhere that evolution 2 is actually going to use spamassasin as a spam filter in the near future.
Marking this as WONTFIX. Interesting guide, not that, but we'll see what the future brings. I don't think it's really relevant, and if it were, it should be part of a bigger document explaining e-mailing in general.
