Description Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-14 13:16:27 UTC
Presumably because of Qt 4.5, please fix, as 0.5.0c wants KDE 4, which is not ready for stable yet.

Ping, any of Qt team and sci-mathematics can have a look?
Comment 3 Davide Pesavento (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-26 08:41:12 UTC
Mh? Qt4 has nothing to do with this package, which depends on KDE3/Qt3.
AFAIK the actual error is

rembedinternal.cpp:90:22: error: Rdevices.h: No such file or directory

which points to an incompatibility with current stable version of dev-lang/R...
Comment 4 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-26 09:37:05 UTC
Gnah....my failure...fix it nonetheless.

I have got inspired at http://pgfoundry.org/pipermail/plr-general/2009-February/000216.html and tried to remove a line 90 in rkward/rbackend/rembedinternal.cpp (#include "Rdevices.h") . And the source was successfully compiled. I do not know if functionality was affected (I did not know this software before, so I cannot compare). Tests needed!

However, a file collision appeared:

 * Detected file collision(s):
 *
 *      /usr/kde/3.5/share/apps/katepart/syntax/r.xml
 *
 * Searching all installed packages for file collisions...
 *
 * Press Ctrl-C to Stop
 *
 * kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.9-r4
 *      /usr/kde/3.5/share/apps/katepart/syntax/r.xml

This problem should be solved too before this software can be stable.

Do you still experiment with rkward-0.4.9b for kde3 or rkward-0.5.1 for kde4?
If yes, please specify your R version.
Thanks.

rkward-0.4.9* gone from the tree.
