odd, this should be fixed.  i see you're using gcc-4.3.3 ... install something that is still in the tree.

It looks like it was a local system issue that caused this.  I've had a few other packages that were not compiling, so I did an emerge world in a loop overnight:

emerge -e world ; while true; do emerge --resume --skipfirst; sleep 1; done

and in the morning, all of my packages (including latest binutils) would compile properly.
