I hadn't synced my portage tree for a few months. I have just realized that eselect-news-20080320 was already installed before upgrading to the latest portage version and the second emerged fixed the problem. So the problem seems to me was inside the files of the eselect-news-20080320. I have therefore closed the bug. Sorry.
